A Personal Discipleship Plan
God desires for every Christian to be continually growing and maturing in the faith and for the local church to be maturing as well. Look at what the Bible says in this regard:
———————————————–
“But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
– Ephesians 4:15,16
“You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”
– 2 Peter 3:17,18

The gospel of grace opposes anything that we do to try to earn God’s favor or to better our standing before God. However, because of our standing with God, by grace, God empowers us with His Spirit to participate in our own spiritual growth. Each Christian is responsible for his/her personal growth in Christ. The local church can provide encouragement and resources to its members to help develop a plan for personal discipleship.
City Groups and affinity-based groups can be intentional in helping group members develop their personal discipleship plan as well. It is recommended that you reach out to a ministry leader or fellow church member for assistance should you have need. The church can provide equipping, training and authentic fellowship to motivate each member to reach their goals to the glory of Christ. MHC seeks to cultivate three environments where primary discipleship takes place: The Pulpit, The Table, and the Public Square.
To help you develop a discipleship plan for next year, please take the survey below or download the document and return the completed hard copy to your MHC Ministry Leader or elder. Answer the questions below as honestly as you feel like you can. The elders will receive copies of these surveys so they can know how to better teach, encourage, and equip you. We want to use this process to serve you and motivate you to keep growing in Christ.
